Lindon Leader – Iconic Logos Designer

Over a thirty-year career in strategic branding Lindon has developed logos and corporate identities for FedEx, CIGNA, Technicolor, Walt Disney, Hawaiian Airlines, Avery Dennison, Ryder Systems, and Progress Energy, among many others.

Growing up in the Greater Salt Lake City area of Utah, he was educated at Stanford University, reading for a degree in Political Science between 1968 – 1972 and then went onto the Art Centre College of Design to read Advertising Design between 1975 to 1977.

On graduating he began his career with the designer Saul Bass, Lindon Leader began his career at Bass/Yager Associates in Los Angeles. Lindon progressed well and was recommended by Bass and found himself moving to Los Angeles.

 Lindon Leader served as design director for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee before owning a design office in Pasadena, California for several years between March 1983 and September 1984 for one year and seven months.

At Landor Associates (San Francisco), whom he was with between April 1992 – September 1998 for six years and six months  as a senior design director for Landor Associates. Lindon Leader was responsible for broad ranging branding programs that included, among others, CIGNA, Dun & Bradstreet, Technicolor, Federal Express, Ryder Systems, DoubleTree Hotels, Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games (no doubt a commission awarded from his experience with the Los Angeles Olympic Organising Committee) and Brazil’s Banco Bradesco, the largest private bank in Latin America.

Before opening his own firm in 2001 between September 1999 and June 2001, Lindon Leader was Executive Creative Director at Addison (San Francisco) where he led branding assignments for Hawaiian Airlines, Intelsat, Progress Energy and Avery Dennison as executive creative director for Addison.

Since 2001, he has built a successful strategic design consultancy in Park City, Utah where he continues to serve the branding needs of clients around the world. Lindon Leader has received over 30 major design awards worldwide. His work has appeared in numerous publications and is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution.
