LinkedIn connects Professionals Worldwide:
Launched in May 2003, LinkedIn was a professional networking site that showed a lot of promise. To date, this website has more than 150 million users in more than 200 different countries! The founder of this company is Reid Hoffman, previously also the CEO of the company, but now he is the Chairman of the Board. Jeff Weiner succeeded Mr. Reid as CEO.
The Silicon Valley Insider ranked LinkedIn as No. 10 in its top 100 most valuable startups. This was hardly surprising as the company was valued at more than one and a half billion dollars in 2010, when the ranking was published.
A blemish, in an otherwise amazing history occurred in June 2012 when hackers managed to infiltrate the website obtaining more than 6 million user passwords and then publishing them online.
Based in California, USA and under its recognized slogan of “Relationships Matter”, LNKD ( as it is known on the stock exchange) traded its first share in the New York Stock Exchange on the 19th of May, 2011.
A fresh look for a professional website – The LinkedIn logo:
The website logo is simplistic in the sense that it contains the typical executive font and bold text. However its design provides a fresh outlook and an attractive design to most businessmen. It comprises of the words ‘Linked’ and ‘in’ with a slight spacing in between. The former is coloured in black whereas the word ‘in’ is encased in a blue box and is written in white.
In other cases only the trades mark, ‘in’ is displayed as the logo.
The logo exudes the same sort of inventiveness and bold look that is normally not associated with a website that serves businesses and industries. The blue box is a nice touch and a break away from the all black/white fonts that many professional logos seem to have. At the same time, the logo maintains a level of elegance and class, an aspect of the company that no doubt has a positive effect on potential customers as it portrays a sense of confidence and reliability which LinkedIn is all about.
America recognizes LinkedIn Logo:
The LNKD logo is a brand that is famous throughout corporate America and as evidence suggests, it is increasing in popularity throughout the world as well. Monthly unique U.S visitors now total approximately 21 million while global visitors total 47 million, a figure that is astounding in the online world. LinkedIn has also reached underdeveloped countries where businessmen are using the website to search for better opportunities. India is one of the website’s fast growing user base with 3 million users while Pakistan also has 1 million users.
LinkedIn series of successes:
Since its inception, the company has not always had a smooth ride with the competition of online businesses and competitor sites bearing down on the company, however it has managed to face all odds and continued to grow. Their logo is a symbol of their success and one that many professionals use to draw comparisons and give lessons to aspiring entrepreneurs.
LinkedIn has continued to gain support from customers and has branched out into social networking sites in order to provide convenience to its customers. It is also available on mobile.
As CEO Reid Hoffman recalls, there was a time when he faced many difficulties especially in the summer of 2006, however continuous hard work led to eventual success, a trait that the company logo represents.
Looking more closely into its slogan, “relationships matter”, it is easy to understand that the company places utmost priority on customer satisfaction and creating brand loyalty. It is this trait that has made their logo one of the most trusted and revered logos worldwide.
